We all must remind parents, coaches, that this is a game for
kids, not life or death, winning or losing, the attitude of some Fans (parents)
and coaches have been all but sportsmen like. The refs are volunteers and we
need to remember that some of the biggest critics never step on the court to
help out, but are the first to call the ref a name and tell them that they
missed a call. Parents should cheer on their team and let the kids play it, the
coaches, coach it, and the refs ref it. If they don't agree with this, then
they should not be involved in youth sports.
Up in Lake Plaiced this past weekend was a youth Ice hockey
tournament, The Jr Phantoms from Pennsauken were there playing and a fight
broke out between parents over a parent yelling about another kid from the
other team. Nine people were arrested as a result of their actions.
We all need to stop for a minute and give deep thought
why we are out there.
Please remind your organizations of this, or if you can add
more to it do so.
Thank you, Ken
